Staughton Thorne Architects

Designed for a small family, the project comprises 38m2 of remodelled space within the rear envelope of a mid-century brick dwelling. Dining, living and kitchen areas are replaced with a new multi-functional room and external pergola in rough-sawn oregon. The design re-accommodates these activities by removing existing dividing walls and installing cabinet joinery around the perimeter to create an expanded space supported with steel beams in an expressed cross-motif.
